Otjandaue Safaris is located in north-central Namibia, just two hours drive from the international airport and capital city of Windhoek. Including adjoining properties, the hunting concession encompasses over two hundred thousand acres of game-rich land.  It is mainly comprised of savannah thorn bush veldt, interspersed with rugged hills and kopjes. These hills are home to some of the largest Greater Kudu in Africa. My clients have taken bulls of over fifty-nine inches in this area, and the average length of horn for Greater Kudu has been over fifty-four inches for the past six seasons. The 1998 season saw one of my clients take a sixty-one and one half-inch Kudu bull, and then pass on several larger bulls later in the safari. If your dream is a huge Greater Kudu, this is the one area that you must consider hunting. In addition to the excellent Kudu found at Otjandaue, there are large numbers of mature trophy animals of all the species listed, including the rare and beautiful Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, which can only be hunted in Namibia at this time, as well as the Damara Dik Dik. Due to the high populations of Plains Game, Leopard and Cheetah are also found in good numbers. My clients enjoy an extremely high success ratio at Otjandaue due to the excellent concentration of game, and the very light hunting pressure that this vast area receives each season.  Several good Leopard and Cheetah were taken by my clients during the past seasons.

Clients are accommodated in a very comfortable guest lodge, which is surrounded by citrus trees. The lodge is equipped with full amenities including electricity, private bath and toilet facilities and daily maid and laundry service. Meals are served in the German tradition and include a variety of venison dishes.

Rifles should be of a medium, flat shooting caliber such as .30-06, 7mm Magnum, .300 Magnum, etc., as longer shots are sometimes required. A top quality variable riflescope in the 2-7 or 3-9 range is recommended.
